Microneedling vs Other Cosmetic Treatments
Microneedling is a rejuvenation treatment, believed to be more kind and skin friendly than laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion and other more aggressive treatments on the market. It better protects the skins cell growth allowing for quicker healing and higher success rates. Microneedling, also known as Skin Needling or CIT, is more advanced than home derma rolling kits, as the depth at which the skin is penetrated is adapted, depending on what area of the face or skin is being worked.
This is important because every person’s skin is different- in addition, different parts of the face have different skin thickness. The treatment is therefore tailored to you to ensure correct stimulation without damage the dermis or epidermis (inner and outer layers of the skin).
In addition, the vertical angle at which the microneedles stamp and penetrate the skin, prevent unnecessary skin trauma, unlike a derma roller which has thicker needle sizes especially when rolled over the face.
Extremely high quality and patented formulas are used, both during and post treatment and the formula used will be dependent upon your analysed and evaluated skin type. This ensures that the skin is receiving the most suitable ingredients for identified target areas.
Treatment is performed via a licensed and insured specialist, trained in skin anatomy and health and safety. Equipment used is sterile and/or for individual use, and strict health and safety measures are adhere to, to prevent any cross contamination and to ensure the utmost of hygiene.
Treatment will not be performed should any contraindications be identified which would deem the procedure to be unsuitable. This can be an issue with self home derma roller kits as the person performing the treatment may not have knowledge of skin conditions including skin conditions to avoid.

Microneedling vs Botox
Microneedling is also a fantastic alternative to Botox for those wanting a natural yet effective skin rejuvenation treatment that is more permanent and focuses on the deeper condition of the skin. Whereas Botox paralyses muscles, Microneedling works to simply repair the skin on the area in which it is worked on.
It therefore does not alter expression and offers a more natural finish with a similar desired outcome of improved skin appearance. Nothing is injected into the skin and because the epidermis is not significantly damaged, there is virtually no risk of infection or scarring from the procedure.
Microneedling carries far less risk than Botox and other cosmetic treatments available with long lasting results.
Microneedling can also be highly targeted, making it easy to treat narrow or hard to reach areas. It can treat many areas of the body as well as many differing skin problems, not just those of lines and wrinkles. It can cover / treat larger areas of the face or body which other cosmetic treatments may not be suitable for- an aged and tired face, where there is a high density of fine lines and wrinkles covering the entire area, is a good example of this.
